Sermorelin is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), which is the natural hormone that triggers the production of growth hormone. Also referred to as growth hormone-releasing factor and GRF 1-29, it is classified as a growth hormone secretagogue—a substance that promotes the secretion of growth hormone from the pituitary gland.

Usage

Sermorelin promotes the production of growth hormone, leading to increased muscle mass, reduced body fat, enhanced recovery, better sleep, improved flexibility and joint health, and overall enhancement of well-being. It is typically used to address growth deficiencies (often in children) resulting from growth hormone deficiency by stimulating the pituitary gland to release more of the body's natural growth hormone.

Mechanism of Action

Much like the body’s own GHRH, Sermorelin binds to the growth hormone-releasing hormone receptor (GHRHr) in the anterior pituitary gland, stimulating the release of growth hormone and increasing levels of endogenous IGF-1. Sermorelin operates similarly to GHRH, but its beneficial effects on growth hormone levels are regulated by a negative feedback mechanism initiated by somatostatin, also known as growth hormone-inhibiting hormone (GHIH). This mechanism helps avoid excessive growth hormone levels in the body and creates a more natural pattern of growth hormone fluctuations.

By functioning naturally, Sermorelin helps maintain the hypothalamic-pituitary-somatotropic axis, preventing the suppression of hormone production that often occurs with direct human growth hormone (hGH) replacement. Additionally, Sermorelin has been shown to enhance sleep quality, increasing the duration of restorative slow-wave sleep and boosting growth hormone release during sleep while decreasing cortisol production, a hormone associated with stress.

Administration

Sermorelin is administered via subcutaneous injection into a fleshy area, typically on the abdomen.

Method of Administration:

Before injecting Sermorelin, ensure that you use a clean and sterile syringe:

  • Hold the Sermorelin vial upright and insert the syringe into the center of the cap.
  • Pull the plunger to draw the correct dosage (refer to ‘Dosage’ below) into the syringe and remove it carefully.
  • Clean the injection site with alcohol before administering.
  • Pinch the skin around the injection area, leaving about 2 cm on each side.
  • Hold the syringe perpendicular to the skin and swiftly insert the needle.
  • Press the plunger down completely until the syringe is empty, then withdraw it carefully.
  • Dosage

    100 mcg to 1000 mcg (0.10 mg to 1.0 mg) 1 - 3 times per day

    Dosage Amount:
    Dosage Frequency:

Sermorelin can be taken once daily before bedtime or split into 2-3 smaller doses throughout the day. Both methods have proven effective and yielded positive results in clinical trials.

Despite its relatively short half-life of up to 20 minutes, Sermorelin can induce a significant release of growth hormone within two hours following administration. Protocols involving three daily doses as low as 100 mcg (0.10 mg) have shown substantial increases in both growth hormone and IGF-1 secretion.

    Side Effects

Mild side effects of Sermorelin may include: reactions at the injection site (such as pain, swelling, and redness), skin flushing, headaches, difficulty swallowing, dizziness or fatigue, hyperactivity, hives, nausea or vomiting, altered taste, paleness, and tightness in the chest.
