Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1), also referred to as Somatomedin C, is a hormone that resembles insulin in its molecular structure. It plays a crucial role in growth during childhood and has anabolic effects in adults. IGF-1 is one of several growth factors necessary for normal human development. It is primarily produced in the liver, but is also generated in various tissues throughout the body. Comprising 70 amino acids, IGF-1 contains A and B chains linked by disulfide bonds, and features a C peptide region with 12 amino acids. Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1) facilitates normal growth and development of bones and tissues, as well as helps to lower blood glucose levels. It promotes the mobilization of fat cells, leading to fat loss, and subsequently increases lean body mass while reducing fat. These effects are especially sought after by athletes and bodybuilders. Elevated IGF-1 levels are associated with weight gain due to an increase in lean body mass rather than fat accumulation. IGF-1 is popular among bodybuilders and regular exercisers because it enhances recovery after workouts and boosts energy during exercise. Injections of IGF-1 are common for both adults and children with a growth hormone deficiency. It includes many essential amino acids that can assist children who are not growing at a typical rate and can support adults who are deficient. Research indicates that the anabolic effects of IGF-1 may be attributed to reduced protein breakdown and enhanced protein synthesis in skeletal muscle. This may occur due to a direct effect of IGF-1 on muscle tissue, aiding recovery for burns and other tissue-related issues. IGF-1 is a naturally occurring hormone in human blood that primarily regulates the impact of growth hormone in the body. Its normal functions, along with growth hormone, include promoting tissue and bone growth. IGF-1 is produced in various tissues in response to the presence of growth hormone. IGF-1 stimulates overall body growth and has growth-promoting effects on almost all body cells, especially in bone, cartilage, skeletal muscle, liver, kidneys, nerves, skin, and lungs. In addition to its insulin-like effects, IGF-1 can also regulate cellular DNA synthesis. Subcutaneous injection into a fatty area of the body, often the stomach or abdominal region. IGF-1 can also be administered intramuscularly. Before using IGF-1, ensure a clean and sterile syringe is used. 1. Hold the IGF-1 vial vertically and insert the syringe into the center of the cap. 2. Pull the plunger to extract the appropriate dosage (refer to ‘Dosage’ section below) and carefully remove it. 3. Cleanse the area of skin with alcohol before injection. 4. Pinch the skin around the injection site, leaving about 2 cm on either side. 5. Hold the syringe at a 90-degree angle to the skin and swiftly insert it. 6. Push down the plunger completely until the syringe is empty, then gently withdraw. - 40 mcg - 50 mcg daily (for men) - 10 mcg - 20 mcg daily (for women) IGF-1 should not be administered more than twice daily. A typical IGF-1 usage cycle generally lasts between 2 to 12 weeks. Children and adults prescribed IGF-1 for growth deficiencies should consult a healthcare professional for appropriate dosing guidance. The side effects of IGF-1 may resemble those associated with other growth hormones. Possible effects include excessive growth of body tissues (acromegaly) and potential damage to joints, liver, and heart. Users may experience joint pain, muscle discomfort, headaches, and nausea. Additionally, IGF-1 could lower blood glucose levels, potentially resulting in hypoglycemia. Research also links IGF-1 to an increased risk of certain cancers, including lung, breast, colorectal, and prostate. - Enhances protein synthesis in the body - Regulates stored fat to be utilized for energy, contributing to fat loss - Promotes positive metabolic effects, leading to increased lean body mass and muscle growth - Provides protection against autoimmune diseases, heart disease, and plaque accumulation - Supports development in children and adults lacking essential amino acids - Improves blood sugar regulation - Promotes overall health, wellness, and fitness in users.
