What Is Epitalon?

Epitalon is a synthetic peptide composed of four amino acids (alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, and glycine) and is based on a natural peptide called epithalamin, which is extracted from the pineal gland. It was created by Vladimir Khavinson, a Russian professor and gerontologist, who focused on developing peptide formulations aimed at restoring organ function to help prevent and revert aging. He currently directs the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology.

Khavinson initially derived Epithalamin from the pineal glands of calves. However, due to production challenges, he later developed a synthetic version known as Epitalon.

How Is Epitalon Administered?

Epitalon is typically given through intravenous or intramuscular injection, or transdermally (through the skin), since peptides are degraded in the digestive system and cannot reach the bloodstream intact to exert their effects.

While some findings are encouraging, the majority of research has been conducted on animals and in vitro, leaving the potential health benefits and safety of Epitalon largely unexplored.
