What Is Epitalon?

Epitalon is a synthetic peptide composed of four amino acids: alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, and glycine. It is derived from a natural peptide known as epithalamin, which is sourced from the pineal gland. This compound was developed by Vladimir Khavinson, a Russian professor and gerontologist who focused on creating peptide formulations aimed at restoring the function of various organs to prevent and reverse the aging process. He currently serves as the Director of the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology.

Khavinson initially extracted Epithalamin from the pineal glands of calves, but due to production constraints, he later developed a synthetic version known as Epitalon.

How Is Epitalon Used?

Epitalon is typically administered through intravenous or intramuscular injections or via transdermal methods (through the skin), since peptides can be degraded in the digestive system and cannot effectively enter the bloodstream intact.
