This process is facilitated by the release of nitric oxide (NO) from nerve endings and endothelial cells, which promotes the production of cGMP in smooth muscle. The presence of cGMP causes relaxation of the smooth muscle and enhances blood flow into the corpus cavernosum. By blocking PDE5, Udenafil increases cGMP levels, thereby enhancing erectile function.

Avoid using Udenafil in conjunction with other erectile dysfunction treatments.

Do not take Udenafil if you are using nitrate medications for chest pain or heart issues, such as nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, or isosorbide mononitrate. Nitrates may also be found in certain recreational drugs like amyl nitrate or nitrite ("poppers"). Combining Udenafil with nitrate medications can lead to a sudden and dangerous drop in blood pressure.

If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours—whether painful or not—immediate medical attention is required. Delaying treatment for priapism can result in irreversible damage to the erectile tissue and erectile dysfunction.

    Caution should be taken for the following individuals:
  • Those with uncontrolled hypertension
  • Patients with hereditary degenerative retinal diseases (like retinitis pigmentosa, proliferative diabetic retinopathy)
  • Individuals who have had a stroke, heart attack, or coronary artery bypass grafting in the past 6 months
  • Patients with severe liver or kidney issues, congenital long QT syndrome, or a prolonged QT interval due to medication; those prone to priapism
  • Individuals with anatomical deformities of the penis or those with penile implants
  • Patients with cardiovascular conditions, such as unstable angina or chronic heart failure (class II-IV), that developed within the last 6 months, or with poorly controlled arrhythmias or hypotension.

    The recommended dose is 100 mg, taken 30 minutes prior to planned sexual activity. If using Zudena on an as-needed basis, you are not likely to follow a specific dosing schedule. The maximum recommended frequency is once per day.
