AVANA-50 (Avanafil, produced by Sunrise Remedies) is a phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitor prescribed for treating erectile dysfunction. It aids in relaxing muscles and enhancing blood flow to the penis. When sexual stimulation occurs alongside increased blood flow, it can help male patients achieve and sustain an erection.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

AVANA-50 is available in 50mg tablet form. The suggested initial dosage is 100 mg. This medication should be taken orally as needed, ideally about 15 minutes prior to sexual activity.

Depending on individual response and tolerance, the dosage may be adjusted to 200 mg taken about 15 minutes before sexual activity or reduced to 50 mg taken approximately 30 minutes beforehand. The lowest effective dose should always be administered.

The maximum frequency for dosing is once per day. It is important to note that sexual stimulation is necessary for the medication to be effective.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Some patients using AVANA-50 may experience side effects. Potential side effects include:

  • Headaches
  • Flushing
  • Nasal congestion
  • Sore throat
  • Back pain
  • Consult your doctor if any side effects are persistent or worsening. If you experience severe side effects, such as priapism (an erection lasting over 4 hours), loss of vision, hearing loss, or other serious reactions not mentioned here, seek immediate medical attention.

    PRECAUTIONS:

AVANA-50 should not be used by individuals taking amyl nitrate or butyl nitrate (commonly known as "poppers") due to the risk of severe complications. Additionally, patients on other nitrate medications for chest pain should avoid this drug.

If you have a history of vision loss or a condition called NAION (non-arteric anterior ischemic optic neuropathy), this medication may not be suitable for you. Consult your doctor for further information.

This medication is intended solely for adult male patients. It is not typically prescribed for women or males under 18.

In case of an allergic reaction, seek emergency medical assistance immediately. Symptoms to look out for include skin rashes, hives, facial or limb swelling, difficulty breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always follow your doctor's prescription for AVANA-50. Do not self-medicate or alter your dosage without consulting your physician first, as the appropriate dosage may vary based on your health status, medical history, and the severity of your condition.

This medication may not be suitable for everyone. Before starting treatment, be sure to inform your doctor about the following:

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you have any allergies.
  • If you have any other medical conditions or illnesses.
  • If you are taking any other medications (including over-the-counter drugs).
