HCG 5000iu is an injectable medication produced by Deus Medical, featuring Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) as its active ingredient. This hormone is naturally produced during pregnancy by the developing placenta post-conception and later by a placental component known as the syncytiotrophoblast. HCG has several uses, including appetite suppression and facilitating the body's utilization of stored fat for energy. It is also administered to induce ovulation and address infertility in women, as well as to boost sperm production in men. Additionally, bodybuilders often incorporate hCG into their steroid cycles and post-cycle therapy to promote fat loss and enhance testosterone levels.
Among bodybuilders and athletes, HCG is commonly employed at the conclusion of an anabolic steroid cycle to prevent muscle tissue breakdown. It plays a crucial role in restoring normal testicular function, as prolonged anabolic steroid use can lead to testicular shrinkage. HCG is effective in reversing this condition. When combined with a very low-calorie diet, athletes can effectively eliminate excess fat while preserving muscle mass, and women may also utilize hCG for fat loss in conjunction with a low-calorie intake.
The typical dosage of HCG during a cycle ranges from 500iu to 3000iu weekly, administered 1 to 3 times per week. More frequent injections tend to stabilize blood hormone levels, while a single, larger dose may elevate estrogen levels from the aromatization of testosterone, potentially leading to gynecomastia. Some bodybuilders have reportedly used doses as high as 6000iu over a period of 6 days, but this approach can be risky and varies depending on individual factors. For post-cycle therapy, lower doses of approximately 250 – 500iu daily for 2 to 3 weeks are recommended to help initiate the recovery from testicular atrophy. Bodybuilders should adhere to a hCG regimen for 2 to 3 weeks, followed by at least a month off, and it's advisable to begin this during the final week of a steroid cycle for optimal effects. HCG can also be paired with Clomid or Nolvadex during post-cycle therapy, continuing these treatments even after stopping hCG.
The most significant side effects associated with HCG usage can include severe pelvic pain, swelling in the hands or legs, stomach pain and swelling, difficulty breathing, weight gain, diarrhea, and nausea or vomiting. Other common side effects might involve headaches, restlessness or irritability, mild swelling or water retention, depression, and tenderness or swelling in the breasts; as well as pain, swelling, or irritation at the injection site. In boys, hCG can trigger early puberty symptoms, such as a deepening voice, growth of pubic hair, and increased acne or sweating.
