Choriomon 5000IU is an injectable medication produced by IBSA, containing Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) as its active ingredient. hCG is a hormone secreted during pregnancy, initially produced by the developing placenta after conception and later by the syncytiotrophoblast component of the placenta. One of the applications of hCG is to promote fat utilization for energy while suppressing hunger. Additionally, hCG is utilized to induce ovulation and treat infertility in women, as well as to enhance sperm production in men. Bodybuilders also incorporate it into steroid cycles and post-cycle therapy to help maintain muscle gains and boost testosterone levels.
In the context of bodybuilding, Choriomon is often used at the conclusion of an anabolic steroid cycle to prevent muscle tissue breakdown and aid in restoring normal testicular function. Prolonged use of anabolic steroids can lead to testicular shrinkage, and Choriomon helps in returning them to their standard size. When used alongside a very low-calorie diet, athletes can effectively shed excess fat while preserving muscle mass. Women may also employ Choriomon with a low-calorie diet to eliminate unwanted fat.
Typical dosages of Choriomon during a cycle range from 500 to 3000 IU weekly (administered 1 to 3 times a week). More frequent injections may lead to more stable blood levels, whereas a single large dose can increase estrogen levels due to the conversion of testosterone, potentially resulting in gynecomastia. Some bodybuilders reportedly use doses of 6000 IU for six days, although this approach carries risks and varies based on individual characteristics. For post-cycle therapy, smaller doses of 250 to 500 IU daily for 2 to 3 weeks are recommended to initiate the reversal of testicular atrophy. Bodybuilders should adhere to a 2 to 3-week regimen of hCG, allowing at least one month off in between cycles, and can combine it with Clomid or Nolvadex during the post-cycle phase, continuing these medications even after hCG is discontinued. Potential serious side effects from Choriomon use include severe pelvic pain, swelling in the extremities, abdominal pain and swelling, difficulty breathing, weight gain, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting.
