What Is Epitalon?
Epitalon is a synthetic peptide composed of four amino acids: alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, and glycine. It is derived from a natural peptide called epithalamin, which is extracted from the pineal gland. The peptide was created by Vladimir Khavinson, a Russian professor and gerontologist known for his research on peptide therapies aimed at restoring organ function and combating aging. He is currently the Director of the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology.
Khavinson originally derived Epithalamin from the pineal glands of calves, but due to production limitations, he developed a synthetic version known as Epitalon.
How Is Epitalon Used?
Epitalon is typically administered through intravenous or intramuscular injections, or transdermally (through the skin), as peptides are broken down in the digestive system and cannot reach the bloodstream intact where they can take effect.
While there have been promising findings, most studies have been conducted on animals and in cell cultures, leaving the potential health benefits and safety profile of Epitalon largely unverified. It is important to consult your doctor before using Epitalon and not to use it as a substitute for approved medical treatments.
